Our Mission Statement

Decolonize Media Collective (DMC) is a student of color (and allies) collective dedicated to promoting domestic and international social justice struggles through media. We view media as a critical site of struggle over issues of race, identity, class, gender and power. The group will focus on a range of media justice activities, including but not limited to conducting radio interviews with artists, activists, and educators through a local radio program, conducting media awareness workshops for local youth, and host multiple film screenings and panels. The goal of the group is to inspire dialogue with Hampshire and the larger Five College community around issues of race, identity and power through the media.

  • DMC meetings are open to students of the global majority/people of color only! We do welcome allies' support, encouragement and resources!

How to join?

  1. Attend 3 consecutive working meetings and consistently come to all meetings
