Mission Statement

This group hopes to gather a collective of Hampshire community members interested in learning about systems of ecological food production. As a group we will discuss and learn about philosophies, skills, practices, and principles of a wide range of agricultural systems through weekly meetings and workshops open to the public. Field trips, site visits, and guests speakers will be organized. We will also participate in work on the Hampshire College farm and hold workshops at the Market Garden. Below is a list of activities central to our work!

- Run the Winter Farmers Market, growing, harvesting, and selling produce from Oct-May
- Help with work and construction projects on the Hampshire Farm
- Learn Greenhouse Management, Construction, and Maintenence
- Help Manage the Market Garden, a year-round student-run food production space on campus
- Learn to operate farm machinery and participate in field work (cover crop seeding, tillage, cultivation)
- Learn plant propagation while starting plants for the Hampshire CSA
