Meredith Broberg, adjunct assistant professor of book arts, is a mixed-media artist, who works with drawing, printmaking and photography. She received a B.A. magna cum laude in Philosophy from Carleton College, and an M.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of California at Berkeley. Professor Broberg is interested in artmaking as a means to investigate the natural world and the ways we are interconnected within it. As a Fulbright Fellow in Costa Rica, she did a series of images exploring symbiosis and tropical forest ecology as visual metaphors. Her current work concerns the loss of animal and plant life caused by global warming and habitat destruction. Her prints are included in the collections of the Decordova Art Museum, the Portland Museum of Art, the Smith College Museum of Art and the Boston Public Library.
