Yiddish Language Club Unrecognized
We hope to bring Yiddish to Hampshire campus through discussion tables, guest speakers, theatre, music, and MORE!
Yiddish Tisch (Table):
Every Tuesday (starting September 27th!) from 5-6pm in the Merrill Living Room! Every week, we'll teach some Yiddish vocabulary, basic grammar, and string together some sentences. The last 15 minutes of every Tisch will be reserved for speaking Yiddish for slightly more advanced speakers, so come talk/listen! Delicious dinner will be served every week.
Queer Jews and Allies Conference:
As part of the Queers Jews and Allies Conference (QJAC), on December 4th there will be a panel on the Yiddish play (by Sholem Asch) that asks the question "Is Got fun Nekome (God of Vengeance) a Queer Play?" Stay tuned for more information!
Other Events: A zingeray! (Song session)
Yiddish movie nights! (Der Grine Felder? Romeo and Juliet in Yiddish? The world is our oyster!)
And more, at YOUR suggestion!
